Tout mafia in courts adding to litigants’ woes
RAWALPINDI  - Tout mafia in the district courts Rawalpindi has added to the miseries of the already troubled visitors in the courts.

According to sources, the touts keep wandering the district courts premises and mint money from the visitors by offering all kind of help and assistance needed in the courts. They charge Rs500 to 700 to appear before a court as an eye-witness for anyone.

Sources revealed that the touts allegedly having links in all the major law related departments and offices of the city including readers, registrars and commissioner offices.

A tout, in the district court on condition of anonymity told INP, he offers his services to the litigants in getting bails on personal guarantee and earning livelihood for his family. 

He said that he was numberdar in his village but was facing financial hardships, thus was forced to do this job. He received 10 percent of the bail assurance bond.

A visitor of the court said that the touts were taking the advantage of the ignorance of the visitor.
Many touts are just there to mint money from the troubled complainants and respondents on one way or the other.

This malpractice in the districts court draw attention of the concerned authorities.

Open manhole on roads turn death traps

An open manhole in front of WAPDA office on Rashid Minhas road could cause accidents as its has been covered by placing a huge stone to give an indication about the danger to road users.

Citizens talking to INP complained that damaged portions of footpath flanking Rashid Minhas road has been repaired but manhole in front of WAPDA office in the middle of road was left uncapped and a huge stone was placed on it.

They demanded of the city district government that the open manhole on roads should be covered instead of throwing the responsibility on the other departments because an uncapped manhole on road could cause accidents to fast moving vehicles.

Contaminated water to Dhok Kala Khan irks locals

Supply of contaminated water to the Mohallah Qayyumabad in Dhok Kala Khan was troublesome for the residents in getting clean potable water which has become   hazardous for their health.

Residents of the mohallah said that they were being supplied  sewerage mixed water. When they lodged a complaint with the  WASA complaint cell in Shamsabad, the on-duty official said that their problem would be resolved after 10th of Muharram, the residents said.

The residents demanded of the MD, WASA to take notice of the situation and take steps to provide clean drinkable water supply to the residents.
